After competing in intercollegiate athletics and obtaining a B.S. in Education from Indiana State University, D.C. spent many years literally in the mountains as an outdoor educator. As a guide, mountaineering instructor and administrator for an internationally known outdoor school, D.C. spent time in Alaska, Africa and throughout the Western United States teaching, helping and having a whole lot of adventure with hundreds of people from all walks of life. In 1991, D.C. received his J.D. from the University Of Wyoming School Of Law. Knowing from the time he entered law school that criminal trial work was his passion, D.C. began working in a small firm in Colorado, taking any criminal case he could in order to gain experience in the courtroom. After moving to Boise, Idaho in 1994, D.C. joined a very experienced public defender office and quickly rose through the ranks taking his first capitol murder case to trial in the fall of 1997. In the past 15 years, D.C. has represented clients charged with drug offenses, sex crimes, theft and burglary charges, DUI (both misdemeanor and felony), aggravated assault and battery, homicide, as well as the whole gambit of fraud crimes. Applying his natural interpersonal skills; knowledge of criminal law; and, the experience he gained from countless hours in jury trials, D.C has become one of the most experienced criminal defense attorneys in the Treasure Valley, having spent countless hours in the courtroom and in jury trial. D.C. has been involved in several homicide cases, including one of the first Idaho murder trials in which the death penalty was decided by a jury, not a judge. D.C. is a member of the Idaho State Bar, Colorado State Bar Association, The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and The Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
